Almost three years ago, I cheered the resignation of Ashcroft while kvetching about the response I received to the petition I originally signed against his confirmation (look near the bottom).
My “local representative” at the time of the petition was one Larry Craig, R-Idaho.
Imagine my surprise to run across this:
Best Republican Sex Scandal of the Summer: [...]

Youth suspended over sketch of gun
This story contains some good examples of how the US, as a nation, has largely descended into hysteria and paranoia (with much help from on high). I’m sorry, but I fail to see anything threatening about the drawing in question. In fact, I even question the father’s comment [...]

Researchers Say Happiness in Old Age Not Linked to Lifelong Intelligence
It’s an older article, and short, but it got me thinking. Particularly the following bit:

So, apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks AOL is slowly going down the drain.
WTF. More reasons why the idea of returning to the US disturbs me. There’s something about the idea of women being reduced back to cattle for breeding that infuriates me, regardless of my own personal views on abortion [...]

By a 5-4 vote, the high court ruled against a California prosecutor who said he [...]

Pedophiles to launch political party
Just…
Whoa.
I don’t even know where to start with this, except that they may be on to something with “free train travel for all”. (Was that thrown in to garner the favour of non-perv types? Or is train travel some new exotic Dutch fetish?)
Next thing you know, NAMBLA members will [...]

Researchers Map the Sexual Network of an Entire High School
The associated network diagram
With all due respect to Dr. Moody, I’m curious why the findings of this study came as a surprise. No, it doesn’t support the 1950’s-era notion that only “the fast crowd” is sexually active, or even - gasp - promiscuous. But, really, [...]
